first_imgFRISCO, Texas – New Orleans’ Rehema Franklin is the Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.The senior pushed the Privateers (4-7, 0-2 SLC) to a 79-73 win over North Dakota last week in UNO’s final non-conference matchup of the season. Franklin rattled off a career-high 33 points on 11-of-16 shooting and a 4-of-8 outing from three-point range. The award marks the second of the season for Franklin.Basketball Player of the Week: Rehema Franklin, New Orleans – Sr. – Guard – New Orleans, La.Franklin exploded for a new-career high 33 points after recording a 68.8-percent shooting mark Saturday afternoon in the Privateers’ non-conference victory over North Dakota. Her scoring performance stands as a Southland single-game high this season where Franklin is averaging 14.4 points per game. The senior is the first UNO player to score more than 30 points in a game since Randi Brown in the 2017-18 campaign.
