It was a shame. Of course, we cannot find the solution to score. We can take this goal but it is not a fair result.“A draw was the minimum and to lose this game for my team and players is harsh. Harsh because they had the right mentality despite tiredness in this busy period. They tried to give their best, to push until the end with a lot of chances.“It’s a shame. I’m sorry for my players and fans because it is not a fair result. We were unlucky, we conceded a fantastic goal and they scored with their chance at the end without the possibility to react. It’s difficult to accept, but that’s football.”

I back myself to get into the England team.”[I need to] add goals and assists to my game. At the start of the season I know I haven’t been playing to the standard I know I can. I can perform better. I am convinced we will go through to the next round and we must always believe in what we’re doing. We should’ve finished the game earlier.“It’s also fair to say the referee should not have awarded that penalty. If we’d gone 2-0 up, we would not have had these issues. We’ve got to keep our heads up, as on Sunday there is an important game against Parma.“These two defeats with Cluj and SPAL are very disappointing, because we need to be more effective in attack and kill games off when we’re in control.“We have to analyse why we keep running out of steam in the second half. Carlo Cudicini stood in for a sick Gianfranco Zola after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup and he gave his verdict on Maurizio Sarri and Kepa Arrizabalaga’s starts to life in English football.Arrizabalaga signed for Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in a record breaking £71 million deal for a goalkeeper in the summer, and the Spain international has been a steady influence in Chelsea’s goal, earning 10 Premier League clean sheets and helping the Blues to the league’s second-best defensive record.Cudicini, who works as an assistant to Sarri, won two Premier League titles as Chelsea’s goalkeeper and thinks there is a consensus among those at the club that Arrizabalaga has made a big impact. I think he’s adapted really well. He was straight in, he didn’t have a lot of time to get used to this football but he’s coping very well. We are all very happy about his performance.”Cudicini made 141 league appearances as a Chelsea player and has now transitioned into life as a coach at Stamford Bridge, after a brief spell with Ireland’s Under 21s.He began working under Antonio Conte at the club as an assistant but also helped him with translations from Italian to English. And Cudicini explained his role in helping both Conte and now Maurizio Sarri, who is aiming to make a big step in winning his first trophy as a manager with a Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham on Tuesday.”It’s always difficult for foreign managers to come and change and be part of the Premier League,” He added. “The Premier League is a different league. It’s one of a kind, with so many games. And so, the challenge and the competition is so high.”I had the luck to work with Antonio Conte before and now with Maurizio and it’s a big difference from any other country. So it takes a bit of time to understand how it works and what’s going on. Obviously Gianfranco next to him is a big help.“He is one on the staff that’s had a chance to have some experience in this league and he’s doing his best to make his life a bit easier. But, you know, the team is doing well and can only improve. We are on the right way.”The games are coming in thick and fast and that’s good because it means we’re in all the competitions. We have a very important game [against Spurs in the Carabao Cup]. We need a bit of rest. We need to get a bit of energy back. Then we go again.”It’s a competition that when you reach the semi-finals you want to go all the way. Obviously we know the level of the opponent. I don’t know if we’re talking about pressure but it’s always important to win the first trophy of the season.”You have the chance to win it in February and it can help to then have an even better end of the season. A trophy’s a trophy. We all, as a club, consider all the trophies to be important and we have the chance to reach the final and go all the way, so we want to do well.”Chelsea go into their game with Tottenham suffering from a host of injuries and selection problems as Ruben Loftus-Cheek went off in tears, after a reoccurrence of a back injury in the match against Nottingham Forest. He then described his injury as “not good” to reporters, upon leaving the stadium.Cesc Fabregas is also on his way out of Chelsea, as Pedro and Olivier Giroud are hoping to recover in time for the match at Wembley Stadium with Willian set to miss out. Cudicini admits that it isn’t easy to keep the players fit in January and explained the absence from the last two games of Mateo Kovacic from midfield.”It’s difficult to say because we have a few players recovering from injuries,” He concluded. “A few today were struggling. We will assess the situation and then have an idea on who will play. We need to have in mind the few problems we have.”Mateo is sick, not injured. So hopefully he is one who will be back. We will assess the others.”

The 2019-20 Premier League season is due to start imminently, and with it comes the excitement of a new fantasy football campaign. If you’ve never played fantasy football before, it’s easy – and fun – so get ready to pick a pun-tastic team name (Alisson Wonderland, anyone? Or Dolly Barton?) and challenge your friends and colleagues to become the best FPL manager around.FPL mirrors the real-life Premier League campaign, so good managers keep a close eye on the latest team news as well as being clever and astute about building their team and selecting players accordingly. Article continues below Editors’ Picks Emery out of jail – for now – as brilliant Pepe papers over Arsenal’s cracks What is Manchester United’s ownership situation and how would Kevin Glazer’s sale of shares affect the club? Ox-rated! Dream night in Genk for Liverpool ace after injury nightmare Messi a man for all Champions League seasons – but will this really be Barcelona’s? Goal has rounded up everything you need to know about how to set up your first FPL team and more. How do I play fantasy football?1. Build a squadFirst-time Premier League fantasy football managers will need to sign up for an account on the official website, build their squad, register it and choose a clever and unique team name.Managers have a budget of £100.0 million to spend on a new squad of up to 15 players, and users are highly recommended to use their entire budget.Don’t leave £10m in the bank just because you think you’re pretty happy with your squad – that’s more than enough for someone like Jamie Vardy! FPL managers should also be acutely aware of the best FPL bargain buys and hidden buys if users are short on cash.A squad consists of two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three forwards. Don’t be afraid to splash the cash on a marquee player such as Mohamed Salah and Raheem Sterling – but just be wary of your budget, and make sure that your team is balanced evenly across the board in skill! There is a limit of three players to be selected from any one Premier League side.Read Goal’s full in-depth guide on the best tips available to FPL managers here.2. Select your teamBefore each gameweek deadline, managers need to select a starting XI from their 15-man squad. They will be able to choose from any formation they like, so long as their squad consists of one goalkeeper, at least three defenders, at least two midfielders and at least one forward. As a general rule, the highest-scoring players are those who score the most goals, so your best bet is investing in prolific midfielders capable of hitting the back of the net consistently.Defensive midfielders tend not to provide assists or score goals so, it’s usually a good idea to avoid selecting them. Managers should also check their team each week to keep their squad up to date and to pay attention to team news. Injuries, suspension and losses can cause huge damage to a points total.Additionally, users should also keep their team updated every week with an eye on what teams are playing. For example, it would be a good idea to triple-captain Sergio Aguero if Manchester City are due to face a newly-promoted side.Users will be able to change their formation at any time before the deadline each week, which is one hour before the first kick-off of the first match of the gameweek. You can read Goal’s guides to selecting the best Premier League 2019-20 goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.3. Score pointsIn order to rise in league rankings, managers must accumulate points by way of their players’ performance. This is measured through goals, assists, saves and clean sheets – so get those attacking midfielders and high-scoring forwards straight into your team, stat. Each week, a FPL team’s points will be scored by their starting 11 players. Managers also earn bonus points if they are amongst the top performers in the Bonus Points System (BPS) in a match.Users, however, will have points deducted if their players concede goals, score own goals or receive bookings. If a starting player doesn’t end up featuring for the club, the points scored by the first player on the bench will be counted instead. This also happens if two or three players in the XI are not selected for their teams.Managers, then, need to think carefully about their substitutes and rank them in order of their potential and how likely they are to participate and make an impact.FPL managers must also choose a captain and vice-captain for their gameweek in their squad. Each captain’s score is doubled, and in the event that the chosen captain does not play in the gameweek, the score of the vice-captain is doubled.4. Join leagues and competeAfter successfully registering their squad, managers can join leagues and create their own to compete with other players globally.Private leagues are where managers compete with their friends, and a unique code is needed to join and access each league.Managers can compete in up to 20 private leagues, and there is no limit to the amount of teams in a single league.5. Make transfersFollowing the first deadline of the season in which managers are able to build their squad from scratch, users are given one free transfer each gameweek.Managers are allowed to sign a player in exchange for another member of their 15-man squad, but only as long as the transfer is within their budget. Those who wish to make more than one transfer in a single gameweek will be hit with a four-point deduction.Should managers forego their free transfer, they have it carried over – and have two free transfers for the next week (though two transfers is the maximum).7. Be aware of chipsThere are five FPL chips that can be played over the course of a single season to improve a team’s total points in a single gameweek. Chips are allowed to be played once per gameweek. Wildcard – Completely redo your team from scratch without being punished with a points deduction (twice in a season) Triple captain – Earn three times your points total based on your captain’s performance Bench boost – Earn points from your non-playing substitutes Free Hit – Reset your team for one week onlyThe Wildcard is one of the most important chips, enabling managers to entirely overhaul their squad should they be unhappy with it. But NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero published a list of potential coaches that includes half-a-dozen top college coaches. The report named Iowa State’s Matt Campbell, Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald, Washington’s Chris Petersen, Stanford’s David Shaw, Oklahoma’s Lincoln Riley and, of course, Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh as the six most likely college coaches to get NFL looks.Harbaugh is the only coach on the list with prior NFL head coaching experience, from his four-year stint with the San Francisco 49ers.Has won everywhere he’s been, including San Francisco (44-19-1 from 2011-14). Jets’ interest was real, but no signs he wants to bolt his alma mater.Riley has excelled in his two years at Oklahoma, leading the Sooners to back-to-back Big 12 titles and College Football Playoff appearances. He has also developed two straight Heisman Trophy winners. If he wants an NFL job, he can get one, and he’d listen if the call came. But it’d have to be the right opportunity and the right market to actually lure him.Campbell, Petersen, and Fitzgerald were both credited with developing non-traditional programs into successful ones.Shaw has prior experience as an NFL assistant from 1997 to 2005.
